Robert Zepp, Sr. Obituary

Robert Preston Zepp, Sr.’s extraordinary book of life began on April 27, 1951.

To his parents and siblings, he was Bobby.  To his friends, he was Bob.  To his grandchildren he was Nene.  To his children he was Dad…or sometimes Rick.

He was the second oldest son to Earl Preston and Nancy Zepp.  Bob was a brother to Donna, Richard, James, Jenny and Jeffrey.

He was married to his wife, Dorothy for 48 years and had three children; Kathleen Caroline, Robert Preston, Jr. and Phillip Preston.

He was the proud grandfather of five wonderful grandchildren; Dylan Tyler, Karley Rose, Lia Marie, Parker Preston and Preston Leigh.

He graduated from Catonsville High School in 1969 and went onto further his education by graduating from the University of Maryland School of Pharmacy in 1974.  He had a very distinguished career as the head of Outpatient Pharmacy Services at the University of Maryland Medical System and the Director of Pharmacy at Spring Grove Hospital.  He retired from pharmacy in 2019.

He spent many years coaching his children in soccer, basketball and baseball.  If he wasn’t coaching them, he was cheering.  One of his favorite past times was playing golf with his sons, Robert and Phillip.

Growing up, he played on any team he could, which was usually coached by his father.  He was an exceptional athlete from youth league thru adulthood.

Even at the age of 70, he remained active playing softball and pickleball in his beloved retirement home in South Carolina.

He loved Pepsi, Rheb’s jimmy truffles and hated squirrels.
