Robert William Connolly Jr. (Bill) succumbed to his fight with cancer at age 84, on March 9th, 2021.He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Marcia, Grandson Noah Connolly, Sisters Stevi Isaac (Connolly), Sharon Birnie (Connolly), and husband Kenneth Birnie as well as many nephews and nieces. He was fondly known as Dad, Brother, “Uncle Trouble”, and “Sunshine”.Bill was preceded in death by his son Blake Connolly.
Skating on Woodlawn Cemetery pond was a favorite pastime. Bill was an lifelong football fan beginning with the Baltimore Colts, and loved following his Ravens.He enjoyed flea markets, Hawaiian shirts, crabbing, hunting plus his classic Thunderbird. He spent hours observing birds, fox and deer that frequently visited his yard.
Bill attended Milford Mill High school and Johns Hopkins.He started his career as an apprentice steam fitter for Johnson Service & Controls and advancedin the company to Mid Atlantic Regional Service and Sales Manager.
Bill and Marcia traveled with their son Blake on his quest to compete in the Ironman in Hawaii.For 50 years Marcia and Bill enjoyed summer vacations with family and friends in Ocean City MD, (8th street).
In his later years, he worked in the office of Woodlawn Motor Coach enjoying the interaction with lifetime friends Barbara and Jr. Bayer.
He kept his positive outlook & optimism in the face of many life threatening injuries.His charismatic personality made him the ultimate salesman and a fun loving friend.Bill will be greatly missed by family and friends.A private celebration of his life is being planned by the family.
