Michael J Vicari Jr.

On July 15, 2018, Michael J. Vicari Jr., beloved husband of Dorothy (nee Kolb); devoted father of Ellen E. Vicari-Adams and her husband Daniel, Jeannette Alford and her husband Curt, and Mary Ann Vicari and her companion Victor Villagran; dear son of the late Michael and Ethel Vicari; cherished grandfather of Andromeda and Lyra Adams, and Annabel Alford; loving brother of June Sassaman and the late Lorraine Vicari. Also survived by many other loving family members and friends.

Michael was a person with a great many interests. Performing and listening to music was one of his great joys.  He played trumpet from an early age, and more recently took up the tuba. Over the years, he played in a local symphony orchestra and several community bands. He was a public school instrumental music teacher by profession for many years. As well as playing music, he was an avid concert-goer. He especially enjoyed attending the musical performances of his children, grandchildren, other relatives, friends, and neighbors. Although he was generally a quiet participant in large family gatherings, he was known to entertain nieces, nephews, and grandchildren with piggy-back rides and was often seen pulling a wagon full of children. He was a constant reader and especially enjoyed books about political analysis, music and musicians. Other interests included physics, math, astronomy, cycling, steam trains, vintage planes, family pets, puzzles and puns.

A memorial visitation will be held at the Candle Light Funeral Home, 1835 Frederick Rd., Catonsville, MD. 21128 on Sunday from 12pm to 2pm. Interment private.
