Obituary


Michael Leo Harris was born in Cheverly, Maryland on February 14, 1954 to Richard and Rita Harris. He passed on July 26, 2023 at the age of 69. He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard Harris and Rita Harris (Nee Krupp). Including his brother William Harris.
Mike is survived by, and will be greatly missed by his loving wife, Margaret Draper Harris. As well as his cherished siblings, Thomas Harris (Dee Flanagan), John Harris (Joanne), Philip Harris (Sharon Seipel), Beth Dispenza (Thomas), Judith Hill (Robert) and Linda Albright (the late Michael Albright). He was an adored brother in law to Mona Draper (Ken) and Melissa Finlaw Draper (the late William Finlaw). Mike was a devoted cat Dad to the late Dory, the late Leo, Ziggy and Tigger. His loss will be felt by many other caring family and friends.
Mike was passionate about life as a musician, artist, and cyclist.
As a member of the Baltimore Bicycling Club and other bicycling groups, he enjoyed biking and relationships with the whole biking community. A thoughtful, creative person, he explored nature and was dedicated to his family.
Professionally Mike was a mechanical design and draftsman. After he retired, he was a crossing guard at Relay Elementary School.
Family and friends may gather at the Candle Light Funeral Home, 1835 Frederick Rd. Catonsville, MD 21228 on Monday, July 31 for a visitation from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm with prayers taking place at 5:00pm. A funeral service will take place at Catonsville United Methodist Church, 6 Melvin Ave. Catonsville, MD 21228 on Tuesday, August 1 at 2:00 pm
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made to World Central Kitchen, Feeding America and Catonsville Emergency Assistance.
