Together they had three sons; Bill, Dave & Larry. In 1960 the family moved to Catonsville, MD upon the recommendation of friends in Norfolk after Bill Sr. secured a job with the Social Security Administration in Baltimore. The family moved to Columbia in the early 1970s.

An avid reader with interests in the arts, education, politics, financial investing, decorating, landscaping, gardening, animals, philosophy, gourmet cooking & fine-dining.
