John Frank Spindler

John Spindler Obituary

John Frank Spindler, 86, died peacefully on January 24, 2023, surrounded by his family. He was born in Baltimore, Maryland to John and Mary Spindler (nee Davis). 

John graduated from Mergenthaler Vocational Technical High School, the Woodrow Wilson Business School, studied drama at John Hopkins McCoy College and Hilltop School of Drama and was a proud veteran of the United States Army, and went on to become a published author and build a career in logistics. John was an amazing craftsman, known as “Mooseman”, who loved writing, creating stained glass and painting. He was also an avid football fan and would never miss a Baltimore Ravens game.

John is survived by his devoted wife, Dorothy Spindler (nee Nee), as well as his loving children, Teresa Paglione (Michael), Christina Kidd (Richard), Kimberly Vazquez (Joel, Sr.), Christopher Spindler (Laurie), Douglas Spindler (Silvana), and Charity Kronenwetter (Daniel). John was also a cherished grandfather of 13 -- Emily Dressel, Riley and Samantha Paglione; Ross and Anna Kidd; Joel Jr., Ryan and Todd Vazquez; Tyler Spindler; Bailey and Izzy Spindler, and Aiden and Noah Kronenwetter.  He will be greatly missed by all of his family and friends.

John was predeceased by his father, mother, daughter - Mary Teresa Spindler, and his sister, Barbara Antonelli.

Family and friends may gather for a visitation at the Candle Light Funeral Home, 1835 Frederick Rd., Catonsville, MD 21228, on Tuesday, January 31, 2023, from 3 to 6 p.m. A mass of Christian burial will be held at St. Gabriel Catholic Church, 6950 Dogwood Rd, Windsor Mill, MD 21244 on Wednesday, February 1, 2023, at 10 a.m. with a burial following at Crest Lawn Memorial Gardens, 2150 Mount View Rd, Marriottsville, MD 21104.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made to the Parkinson's Foundation or the American Heart Association
