John Propf Obituary

John “Jack” Thomas Propf, age 92, peacefully passed away on March 14, 2021. Jack was born in Towson, MD to the late Gordon Propf and the late Lillian Propf (nee Long). He is survived by his devoted wife Nancy of 60 years and their two children Jennifer Ward (Tom Ward) and Lawrence Propf.  
 

He is the loving grandfather of Nicholas Ward (Amber Pierce), Kevin Ward (Angie Barrall) and Joey Ward as well as caring great-grandfather of Nicholas Jr, and Makenzie. He is preceded in death by his brothers Gordon and Karl Propf and is survived by his sister-in-law Mary Poling and brother-in-law Michael Radov.  He is also survived by his many loving and dedicated caregivers including Sarah, Keisha, Ruth, Shantrice, Aiesha, Theresa, Latonya and Roseline.


Jack served in the United States Army from November 1950 and was honorably discharged in 1952. He graduated from Loyola College, Baltimore with a major in Accounting. After which he held a number of leadership positions in the field of Human Resources, before forming his own consulting firm for which he ran for 20 plus years before retiring.


He enjoyed spending time with family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Attending soccer games, school events and celebrating other milestones along the way. Jack was a willing participant in neighborhood events and received a ‘Man of the Year Award’ for his service to the community of Westview Park. After retiring, he took volunteer leadership roles with Baltimore County Dept. of Aging where he developed many programs for retirement age citizens.
