Donald Slacum, Sr. Obituary

Donald Slacum, Sr., beloved husband, father and grandfather, passed away on Saturday, April 10, 2021 at the age of 87.

 Donald was born in Baltimore, MD on April 21, 1933 and was the son of the late Clyde Phillip Slacum and Hazel Maggie Slacum. Donald served in the United States Army for two years before returning home to Baltimore where he met his wife, Lois Slacum (Hutchinson). They married October 20, 1962 and raised two children. Donald dedicated his life to loving and supporting his wife and children. He is remembered for his quick wit, work ethic and passion for his family and friends.

 Donald was preceded in death by his parents; Brother, William Slacum; Brother-in-law, Charles Brannan; and Sister-in-law, Vearl Hutchinson. 

 In addition to his wife, Donald is survived by Son, Donald Slacum, Jr.; Daughter-in-law, Sharon Slacum; Daughter, Alexandria Krieger; Son-in-law, Christopher Krieger; Grandson, Steven Slacum; Three Granddaughters, Kristina Slacum, Morgan Krieger, Emily Krieger; Sister, Peggy Brannan; Sister-in-law, Catherine Slacum; Brother-in-law, Ronald Hutchinson and many nieces, nephews, and friends.

 A funeral Mass will take place at the Church of the Resurrection in Ellicott City on Friday, April 16, 2021 at 12:30pm. Interment at Crest Lawn Memorial Gardens.  

 

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his memory to Wounded Warrior Project or Gilchrist Hospice.
