Christopher Coggins Obituary

Christopher David Coggins, age 53, suddenly passed away on November 30th, 2021. Christopher was born in Annapolis, Maryland to Claude and Marilyn Coggins (nee: Newcomb.) He attended school at Westchester Academy Preschool, Westchester Elementary, Catonsvile Junior High School, Mount St. Joseph High School, James Madison University and graduate studies at the University of Washington in Seattle, WA.

His expansive career included work for the Department of Energy in D.C.; Hood College in Frederick, MD; the Waterfell Resort on Prince of Wales Island, Alaska; Sun Valley Ski Resort in Idaho; Lucky Eagle Casino in Rochester, WA as a data base developer. Chris’ favorite pastime was fishing, motorbiking and playing his guitar and keyboard. He always looked forward to joining the family every year for vacation on Hilton Head Island, SC.

Christopher is survived by his loving parents, Claude W. Coggins and Marilyn J. Coggins (nee Newcomb). As well as his cherished sister, Cathy Lynn Jackereas (nee: Coggins) and her husband, Keith Jackereas, and nieces, Johannah Saboary Dubeck and Mikayla Sydney Dubeck. His loss will be felt by many cousins and other special family and friends.

Family & friends may gather at Candlelight Funeral Home, 1835 Frederick Road, Catonsville, MD 21228 for a celebration of life on Monday, January 10th from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm with a memorial service taking place at 12:00 pm. The family invites you to join them after the service for a luncheon at Matthews 1600, located at 1600 Frederick Road, Catonsville, MD 21228. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Habitat for Humanity or a charity of your choosing.
