On June 4, 2021, Charles F. Lambert, passed away after a short bout with esophageal cancer. He was married almost 65 years to Shirley Stiegler Lambert who preceded him in death last year. Born in Baltimore on September 1, 1929, to Lydia Belle Lambert and Francis York Lambert, preceded in death by sister Anna Cruickshank (Bill), he is survived by two daughters, Linda Lambert Roe and Lisa Lambert Manekin (Edward), four grandchildren, Brittany Carey (Eric), Shelby Manekin, Austin Roe and Colby Manekin; two great-grandchildren, James and Alice Carey; and many nieces and nephews.
Charles served in the US Army as Sergeant First Class in the Intelligence Unit during the Korean War. After his service, he obtained his Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering from The Johns Hopkins University.
Charlie always provided for his family, took pride in supporting his grandchildren by attending their many dance recitals and sporting events. He also enjoyed his involvement with the Palestine Lodge as Treasurer and volunteered his time driving children to the Shriner’s Hospital in Philadelphia for medical treatments. Visitation will be held with family and friends on Saturday, June 12 from 11 am to 12:30 pm at Candle Light Funeral Home; 1835 Frederick Rd. Catonsville, MD with interment immediately following at Woodlawn Cemetery. Friends and relatives may contribute to the memory of Charles Lambert to the Shriners Hospitals for Children.
