Anna Croyle Obituary

Anna Torta Croyle

April 10, 1963 - June 9, 2020

57, Catonsville, MD, formerly of Ebensburg, passed away peacefully after an abbreviated battle with cancer, on June 9, 2020. Born on April 10, 1963 in Asbury Park, NJ. Daughter of Ray and Yvonne “Bonnie” (Italiano) Torta. Preceded in death by parents and paternal grandparents. Survived by husband Mark and her loving son Justus (Catonsville, MD).

Anna was a 1981 graduate of Bishop Carroll where she played on the accomplished girls' basketball team and cheer team Huskie mascot. Contributor / Editor on the Yearbook committee and the literary magazine Syzygy. Anna attended Penn State Altoona (Engineering), Thompson Institute in Harrisburg (Drafting), Baltimore International (Culinary) College and Community College of Baltimore County (Interior Design).

Anna had a varied and diverse career in several different fields that included: RTKL Architects (HVAC drafting & design), KCI Technologies, Inc. (Plumbing and Electrical drafting and design / Cell Tower drafting and design), Linda Brown Catering (Professional cooking), Patterns in Glass (Owner & Creator of glass patterns, designs for other craftsmen/artists and construction [Anna has had 7 stained glass pattern design books published, by Dover Publication, Inc.] and RD Jones + Associates (Interior Designer).

Anna was a member of numerous trade group organizations, was an avid volunteer for all of her son Justus’ sports teams (baseball, football and rugby). Anna was also a profound animal lover that resulted in 9 dogs and cats coming into her home over the past 30+ years. Anna was the last surviving member of her immediate family, but she had a wide circle of friends who she enjoyed spending time with, both in person and virtually (“The Baker’s Dozen” is a legendary group of friends!). Together with her husband, Mark, and son, Justus, she strove to make a happy and healthy home that was inviting to anyone, or any animal, who walked through her door. Anna was a kind and giving person, donating some of her outstanding cooking and artistic creations to help with fund raisers for causes and charities too numerous to list. Anna enjoyed taking the Cape May / Lewes Ferry on our frequent visits to the Devlin’s in Cape May, as well as trips back to her roots in Ebensburg. Anna was a warm, loving wife, mother, friend and a woman with a quick sense of humor and a disarming smile.

Final arrangements have not been finalized at this time. Mark and Justus request that in lieu of flowers we would ask that donations be made to our primary charities:
