William Wyatt Houck, of Ellicott City, passed away on August 15, 2016.  Will, who was but 25, is survived by his loving parents Susie and Bill Houck, and his devoted dog Wishbone.

Will lived a courageous life of 25 years battling illness to live his life to its fullest and pursue his passions of baseball (Savage, Elkridge and Howard County Leagues), golf, horseback riding and observing wildlife.  He was a graduate of Long Reach High School in Columbia, Maryland, where he played on the varsity baseball and golf teams.  He worked part-time at Merriweather Post Pavilion and The Music and Arts Center in Ellicott City, Maryland.  Will was overcome by illness when beginning his studies towards a Biomedical Engineering degree at North Carolina State University.  He took classes at Howard and Frederick Community Colleges in hopes of future recovery and a return to Raleigh.

Will reveled in the supportive environment of his large family of aunts, uncles, grandparents and boisterous cousins.  Summers at the Atlantic beaches and holidays left indelible memories for all.  Countless doctors, nurses, respiratory therapists, and administrative staff at Johns Hopkins Hospital and Comprehensive Nursing Services became his second family.   The family is indebted to all those professionals for their compassionate care and treatment.

Visitations will be held on Friday, August 26, from 2-4 p.m. and from 6-8 p.m. at the Candle Light Funeral Home, 1835 Frederick Road, Catonsville, Maryland, 21228.  Online condolences may also be made at: www.candlelightfuneralhome.com.  A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, August 27 at The Church of the Resurrection, 3175 Paulskirk, Drive, Ellicott City, Maryland, 21042.  Interment will be at Crest Lawn Memorial Gardens, 2150 Mount View Road, Marriottsville, Maryland, 21104.
