Thomas Aloysius Marsden

On September 20, 2026, Thomas (Tom) Aloysius Marsden, passed away peacefully at the age of 78.

Born in Washington DC to Melvin and Elizabeth Marsden (O’Connor), Tom was defined by his generous spirit, remarkable resilience, and a signature wit that left a lasting impression on everyone he met. He possessed a profound command of the English language and was a true wordsmith who spent much of his time reading, writing, and sharing his wisdom with those around him.

Tom found great joy in life’s simple pleasures, he could often be found relaxing in his garden with a cold Heineken in hand. He took immense pride tending to his garden and the tranquil space he created there. Above all else, he was a devoted family man who loved bringing his loved ones together. He was the proud host of the family's annual Christmas Eve gathering, a cherished tradition filled with laughter and love that his children and grandchildren will forever hold dear.

Tom is survived by his beloved children Erin, Kenna, and Connor, their mother Maureen, his adored grandchildren Briella, Covin, Maizley, and Mia; and his dear siblings, Andrea, Candace, and Matthew. He is preceded in death by his dear sister, Dana. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who loved him.

A private graveside service will be held by the family. In lieu of flowers, those wishing to honor Tom’s memory may consider making a charitable donation to the American Cancer Society.
