Theodore Joseph Richard, 91, of Catonsville, Maryland, died peacefully in his sleep on March 5, 2022.
He was born in Fitchburg, Massachusetts, the son of Ardis M. (née) Rogers and Theodore J. Richard, Sr., in 1930.
Mr. Richard had a distinguished career in the U.S. Navy, achieving the rank of Lieutenant and retiring in 1968. Following his naval career, he embarked on a second career at the Department of Defense as an intelligence analyst until his retirement in 1987. Mr. Richard had been a member of the Phoenix Society, the Fleet Reserve of
Annapolis, and Commander of the Veterans of Foreign War, Post 160, and is a life member of the Naval Cryptologic Association.
Mr. Richard was preceded in death by his wife, Jewel (née Williams), his daughter, Michelle Wolff of Midland, Texas and his brother, Paul Richard of Gardner, Massachusetts.
He is survived by his son, Theodore J. Richard, of Houston, Texas, his brother, James, (Peggy) Richard, his stepdaughter, Sherry (Bruce) Brown of Linthicum and his stepson, Joseph (Judy) McKusky.
He is also survived by 8 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
Friends may call at the Candlelight Funeral Home on Frederick Road in Catonsville on Monday, March 14, 2022 from 4:00 pm until 6:00 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, March 15, 2022 at 10:00 am at St. Philip Neri Church in Linthicum, MD.
