Susan S. Crooks, 76, of Halethorpe, MD, passed away on Friday, August 1, 2025. She was born in Montana to Ovie and Rose Shennum. She is survived by her devoted husband, Stephen Crooks; loving daughter, Cristin Hatfield (Jonathan); cherished grandchildren, Maddox and Jaxon Hatfield; sister, Karen Webb; nephews, Daniel Webb, Stephen Webb and niece, Elizabeth Sandler. She is preceded in death by her parents, Ovie Shennum and Rose Shennum (nee Tucker), and brother, Brian Shennum.
The immediate family takes great comfort in knowing that Susan had a foundation of hope, laid by her grandmother, in that Jesus is the Way, the Truth and the Life; so she is at peace with her Savior.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Susan’s honor to Gilchrist Hospice (11311 McCormick Road, Suite 350, Hunt Valley, MD 21031).

Directly following the memorial service, we will be relocating to Faith Bible Church (address below) for a Celebration of Life; this will be a pot-luck reception and an open-ended time to visit and share with one another what Sue meant to us.
Please bring snacks, trays, sharables or other finger foods and avoid entrees if you intend to contribute food.
This will be more conducive to mingling and visiting. There will be an opportunity for people to get up and speak, so please consider a story or memory of Susan that you might like to share.
