Richard Franklin Stanton, 84, of Owings Mills, Maryland, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Thursday, January 15, 2026. He was born on March 10, 1941 in Maryland to Franklin Sylvester Stanton and Esther Katherine Stanton (nee Walls). Richard is survived by his devoted wife, Miriam “Mim” Edith Stanton; loving step-sons, Robert Barry Rund (Julie), Michael Bruce Rund (Joanne), and James Philip Rund (Karen); cherished grandchildren, Christopher Rund (Holly), Melanie Kontz (Colton), Leanne Harris (Jimmy), Philip Rund, Clayton Rund (Camille), Will Rund, and great-grandchildren, Summer, Leo, Jasper, Levi, Emmett, Lexi, Lynnette, and Harper; and loving siblings, Ronald Stanton (Pat) and Linda Upole, and several nieces and nephews.
Richard enjoyed fishing, doing jigsaw puzzles, playing card games with friends and especially cruising with his wife Mim. (They were married just a few months shy of 30 years).
Family and friends may gather at Candle Light Funeral Home, 1835 Frederick Road, Catonsville, MD 21228, on Tuesday, January 20, 2026 for a Visitation from 1:00pm-3:00pm and 5:00pm-7:00pm, with a Funeral Service taking place on Wednesday, January 21, 2026 at 10:00am at Candle Light Funeral Home. A second Visitation will take place on Friday, January 23, 2026 from 10:00am-12:00pm at Newman Funeral Homes, P.A., 179 Miller Street, Grantsville, MD 21536. Burial will immediately follow at Grantsville Cemetery.
