Michael Frank Allen was born in Munich, Germany, on January 30, 1950. He passed away peacefully on April 27, 2025, at the age of 75. He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Charlotte Allen, and his beloved first wife, Sandy Allen.
Michael is survived by his loving wife, Joanne Allen(McGurgan); his children, Kerianne Allen (Kyle Erpenbach) and Joann Waggener (Robert); and his stepson, Martin Edwards (Caprice). He is also survived by his dear sisters Charlotte, Eveline, Sandy, and Barbie, and his cherished grandchildren: Josh Mabry, Nick Mabry, James Edwards, and Casey Jo Edwards.
Michael and Sandy shared nearly 40 wonderful years of marriage before her untimely passing. Together, they built a beautiful life and prioritized their family above all else. Michael was blessed to find love again with Joanne. Though their time together was cut short, they made the most of it, traveling, visiting museums, and sharing their mutual love of art and adventure. Michael’s family is forever grateful he was able to find love not once, but twice in his life.
Michael was truly one of a kind—caring, generous, and thoughtful. He always put his family and others first, offering unconditional love and support, especially to his daughters, Kerianne and Joann. He coached them both through youth recreational sports and was their biggest cheerleader on the sidelines throughout their high school and collegiate athletic careers. A proud "girl dad," he loved involving his daughters in projects around the house—whether building sheds, laying flooring, painting, or yard work. Michael was endlessly proud of his daughters, and they feel incredibly blessed to have had him as their father.
Always a "busy body," Michael loved working on home projects, gardening, and being a true "Mr. Fix-It." He had a tremendous sense of humor and a big, infectious, cheesy smile. His bear hugs were unforgettable—warm, strong, and full of love—making everyone who received one feel truly cherished. Michael loved capturing moments through his camera, whether at family gatherings or on travels with loved ones. He believed in living life to the fullest and treasuring every special memory.
Michael’s kindness, work ethic, and selflessness left a lasting impact on everyone he met. Though he will be deeply missed, his loved ones are grateful for the incredible memories, lessons, and love he shared throughout his life.
