Born on June 14, 1962, Joanne was the beloved daughter of Jack and Regina Tracey, who preceded her in death. On May 10, 2026, Joanne passed away peacefully and unexpectedly at home. She was the devoted sister and sister-in-law to Mary Helen and Larry Martin, Pat and Mike Proescher, John “Jackie” (deceased), Kathy and Michael Wood, and Mark and Nellie Tracey.

She is lovingly remembered by her nieces and nephews Heather, Nicholas, Jennifer, Lauren, Shawn, Megan, Shari, Justin, Kimberly, Ashley, and their spouses, as well as her great-nieces and great-nephews Austin, Calvin, Luke, Claire, Avery, Leiana, Oaklynn, Ryann, Aida, Elliott, Madilynn, and Jaxx.

Joanne’s childhood was filled with simple joys and lifelong memories. Whether she was floating for hours in the pool, something that always amazed those around her or spending time along the shores of Curtis Bay, she found happiness in the little things. She attended St. Joseph Monastery School, then graduated from Seton Keough High School. Joanne later attended the University of Maryland Baltimore County, earning her bachelor’s degree in education. She devoted her life to caring for and nurturing children.

Most recently, Joanne served as a Child Care Licensing Specialist for the State of Maryland. She was deeply respected and admired by both her colleagues and the families she worked with. Joanne always approached others with kindness, understanding, and genuine care.

Joanne was one of the most selfless and compassionate people anyone could know. She found joy in debating politics, helping others, reading, browsing thrift stores, cooking, decorating for the holidays, relaxing at the beach, and making her daily trip for a 7-11 Big Gulp.

Joanne loved her family. There was never a birthday, holiday, school event, or celebration she missed if she could help it. Her love for her nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews knew no bounds. Joanne also had a special place in her heart for animals, often taking in stray cats and dogs all while caring for them with endless gentleness and love.

Though our hearts are broken, we will forever cherish the laughter, warmth, and unconditional love Joanne brought into our lives.

Rest easy, Jojo. You will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered!

The family will receive friends at Candle Light Funeral Home by Craig Witzke 1835 Frederick Road, Catonsville, MD 21228 on Wednesday May 27, from 4-6 pm. (443) 830-0310
