Owings, Mary Jean (nee Riggs), 77, of Woodlawn, passed away peacefully in her home on January 25, 2012 surrounded by her beloved husband of over 50 years, Wallace J. Owings, Sr. and her family. Born in Irvington, Mary Jean was the daughter of the late Charles and Regina Riggs. Later, she worked for many years at the Saint Agnes Hospital in the admissions department. After marrying the love of her life in 1954, Mary Jean and Wally ("Big Wal") had eight beloved children who were their source of pride and enjoyment. She enjoyed cooking, listening to the Oriole's play-by-play action on the radio, watching the Raven's on television, and she adored holding babies in her arms.
