In Loving Memory Of Leita Favard
(Marie Rose Leita Favard | Rosette | Leyoute)
It is unfortunate to share such news as we announce the passing of Leita Favard, who passed away on October 7th, 2025, at the age of 83.
Born on June 9th, 1942, in Maniche, Cayes, Haiti, to Joanes Favard and Carmelite Denestant, Leita lived a life marked by love, admiration, helpfulness, and diligence. All her siblings had passed before her. She was a widow. She is survived by her daughter, Marie France, and was a caring grandmother to Maheva and Olivier. A wonderful person to have in life. A matriarch who could be counted on. “Kin” to her did not mean just immediate family, but everyone. As Leita not only raised her daughter and her daughter’s children but also her niece, Misole, as her own, and was a grandaunt to Leila, Junior, and Marie Joyce. Just some of the many children of the family she raised, as she enjoyed the presence of family. A woman who loved her enjoyments. Leita used to attend the St.Rose Festival annually when she resided in Haiti. She loved music. A woman of business, as she sold products in her hometown, Maniche, and the capital, Port-Au-Prince. In her later years. She resided in Maryland with her daughter’s family. Her death was untimely, taking us by surprise, as the morning of October 7th was a normal day. Her granddaughter, Maheva, usually says to her, “I’ll see you later” every morning before leaving for class or work, but “later” did not come.
May She Rest In Peace Eternally, As She Was A Gentle Soul Who Cared For All.
