Lawrence Eugene Schuberth, 70, of Ellicott City, went home to our Lord on June 17, 2026.

Born on July 24, 1955, in Illinois, Larry was the beloved son of Jack and Jeanette Schuberth and brother of Jack (Leigh), Tom (Nikki), and Joellyn (Joe). He grew up loving family gatherings, food, and sports. He was a graduate of Illinois State University, where he met his wife, Jennifer. Working at a local pizza parlor, he saved up his money to buy her engagement ring.

Their children, Joseph and Tara, were born in Illinois before his accounting career sent them to Texas, where Jenna was born. Another promotion sent them to Maryland, where they planted roots and welcomed Maria, John, and Michael. Larry and Jennifer quickly became an integral part of their local parish, Our Lady of Perpetual Help, where they developed lifelong friendships and helped build a truly special community.

Throughout his life, Larry was known for his joy, work ethic, and his servant’s heart. He served his family, friends, and his parish community with untiring devotion. In particular, Larry loved to lead the catering for large special events. You could find him in the kitchen cooking for hundreds of people with a smile on his face and a quick joke at the ready. He always arrived first and left last, leaving an example of hard work, selflessness, and passion for life that remains unparalleled.

The only thing he cherished more than his family and friends was his relationship with the Lord. He was a devout Catholic who lived out his faith with humility and conviction. With his wife, Jennifer, their legacy extends through their 6 children: Joseph (Katelin), Tara, Jenna (Kevin), Maria (Colin), John (Alyssa), Michael (Annie), and 22 grandchildren: Gianna, Pearl, Dominic, Louis, Emma, Hazel, Anthony, Sal, Frankie, Leo, Marie, Brendan, Bernadette, Ralph, Jack, Philip, Winifred, Regina, Ellen, Carl, Riley, and Theodore.

A viewing will be held on Monday, June 22, from 2:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. at Candle Light Funeral Home (1835 Frederick Rd, Catonsville, MD 21228).

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, June 23, at 10:30 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church (4795 Ilchester Rd, Ellicott City, MD 21043). Burial will follow at Mountain View Cemetery (2030 Mt View Rd, Marriottsville, MD 21104).
