Kenneth Morales

Kenneth A. Morales of Cayce passed away on Sunday, August 14, 2016 at his son’s home in Catonsville, MD of natural causes. He was born on July 14, 1930 in Buffalo, NY to the late Andrew Morales and Grace Addesa Morales. He was married to Barbara Ann Crowell (predeceased) on January 22, 1955. Kenneth is survived by five children; Stephen Kenneth Morales, Deborah Lee Morales, Denise Lynn Morales Brown, Gregory Vincent Morales, Brian Andrew Morales; and four grandchildren.

Mr. Morales came to Columbia in 1977 when the UAP Components Plant was established. It is now the Garlock Helicoflex Plant, where he retired in 1997. During most of his time in the Columbia area, he lived in Edenwood Subdivision with his family. While in Edenwood, he served as a director of the Edenwood Swim Club. During his retirement years, he volunteered as docent for Historic Columbia, where he would play as Father Christmas during Christmas seasons.

Funeral services for Mr. Morales will be held on Friday, August 19, 2016 at Thompson Funeral Home, West Columbia at 11:00 AM, with burial to follow in Woodridge Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 10:00 until 11:00 AM at the funeral home.
