Harold E. Grubb

September 12, 1933 — May 31, 2025

On Saturday, May 31st, Harold Edwin Grubb of Dewey Beach, Delaware passed away peacefully at the Ellicott City Assisted Living Facility. Born in Abilene, Kansas on September 12, 1933 to the late Thelma and Richard Grubb.

Harold grew up in Ellsworth, Kansas, attending Ellsworth High School. He played baseball, football and tennis. After graduation Harold joined the U.S. Navy 1951 – 1954. His assigned ship was the U.S.S. UHLMANN (DD-687). Harold proudly earned the following medals, Korean Service Medal (2 stars), China Service Medal (Extended), United Nations Service Medal and the National Defense Service Medal. Upon his honorable discharge from the Navy, Harold attended Kansas State College from 1954 – 1958, earning a Bachelor of Science degree and a Master of Science degree. During his college years, he was also a member of the Sigma Phi Epsilon Fraternity.

After graduating Harold moved to the Boston area as a sales trainee with the Raytheon Company 1958 – 1963. He transferred to Philadelphia, PA as a salesman for the Carpenter Steel Division, Carpenter Technology Corporation 1963 – 1997. Harold moved to Maryland as a salesman for Southern Pennsylvania, Maryland, Washington D.C. and Northern Virginia, retiring on January 31, 1997.

While in the Boston area Harold got mixed up with a big city girl, the late Nancy Smith, they were married August 1961 and had 3 children.

Harold was the devoted father of Judi L. Schneider (Cab), Gary E. Grubb (Lisa) and Christopher P. Grubb (Shawn); cherished POP POP of Logan, Luke, Brian, Brady, Bethany, the late C.J., Glory, Caden, Colton; Great POP POP of Carsen and Daisy. As well as the dear brother of Larry and the late Robert Grubb.

Family and friends may gather for a visitation on Wednesday, June 4, 2025 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM with funeral services taking place at 12:00 PM at the Candle Light Funeral Home, 1835 Frederick Rd., Catonsville, MD 21228. Burial to follow at Crestlawn Memorial Gardens, 2150 Mt View Rd, Marriottsville, MD 21104.

The family encourages those attending to wear their finest sports attire.
