George Clark Murrow

September 26, 1957 — August 24, 2025

George Clark Murrow, 67, of Catonsville and a lifelong Maryland resident, died after a long, hard-fought battle with cancer on August 24, 2025. Born in Baltimore on September 26, 1957 to proud parents John and Mary Lou Murrow, George was an outgoing and charismatic little brother to John and Johanna, and big brother to Mark.

George was an accomplished athlete and gifted fisherman, wrangling a 371 lb Blue Marlin off the coast of North Carolina in his late 20’s. A pioneer in the communications space, George implemented fiber optic solutions for Verizon for over 30 years. Known for his quick wit and easy laugh, he brought joy and energy everywhere he went. George loved spending time with friends and family more than anything. Every year, he would bring loved ones down to the Outer Banks to fish, celebrate life, and enjoy each other's company. Some of his happiest moments were spent cheering on the Ravens, picking crabs, & coaching his sons' sports teams.

A vibrant soul that brought joy and laughter to all who knew him, he will be dearly missed and never forgotten. He is survived by his two sons, Kyle and Andrew, his mother, Mary Lou Murrow; nieces and nephews, Caitlin Emerson, Wayne Emerson, Johnny Murrow, Benjamin Murrow, Gavin Frank, Allie Frank Langdon, and Raleigh Sneeringer; many other family members, and countless friends. He was preceded in death by his wife of 27 years, Beth Murrow; his father, John; his sister, Johanna; and his brother, John.

Friends are invited to celebrate George’s life on Saturday, September 13, 2025 from 2-3 pm at Catonsville Methodist Church. A celebration of life will be held afterwards; the family is still finalizing the details.
