Edgar F. Oates, Jr.

Edgar F. Oates, Jr. (Ed, Big Ed) was born on January 1, 1947 to Edgar and Ruby Oates in Baltimore Maryland.  Ed was a long time resident of Catonsville Maryland; he graduated from Polytechnic Institute in 1965, served in the National Guard, earned 2 college degrees in computer design, and went onto a long career with GEA in Columbia, Maryland.  He died suddenly on August 5, 2016 and was predeceased by his father, Edgar F. Oates and his mother, Ruby Oates.  He is survived by his sister, Brenda Oates, his two sons, Brian Oates and Eddie Toulan, his six grandkids (Erik Toulan, Ashleigh Toulan, Carly Toulan, Nick Oates, Caitlyn Oates and John Oates), and many nieces, nephews and cousins.   Ed loved his sports, including watching golf and his favorite teams the Baltimore Ravens, Baltimore Orioles and the Maryland Terrapins.  Family and friends are invited to the memorial gathering on August 20, 2016 from 10:00AM - 12:00PM at the Candle Light Funeral Home, followed by a funeral repast at Matthew's 1600 in Catonsville.
