David Wayne Rusta, 69, of Maryland, passed away suddenly on Thursday, March 26, 2026. Born in New York City on Sunday, July 29, 1956, he was the son of the late Douglas Rusta and Barbara Rusta (nee White).

David is survived by his mother, Barbara Rusta; his loving wife, Carol Rusta (nee Marks); his daughters, Michelle Keim (nee French) and Nichole Reid and her husband Brian; his brother, Peter Rusta and his wife Dee; his sister, Karen Gaither and her husband Robby; and his sisterinlaw, Jan Marks. He was the proud grandfather of Nathaniel and Campbell and stepgrandfather of Andrew and Deacon, and cherished uncle to his nieces and nephews, Eryn Reter, Jenna Gaither, Branden Rusta, and Maya Marks.

David loved life, his family, and friends. He was the most giving person and would do anything for anyone, always making you feel like the most important person in the world.

He loved hosting holidays, grilling, and sitting by his fire pit with a beer in hand. A devoted Ravens fan, that he loved going to games with his family. Listening to music was one of his favorite pastimes and always knew the artists and titles of every song. He also enjoyed relaxing while watching game shows and always with a good beer. His most cherished time was spending it with his wife at beach.

Friends and family may gather at Candle Light Funeral Home, 1835 Frederick Road, Catonsville, MD 21228, on Friday, April 10, 2026, from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm, with a memorial service to follow from 3:00 pm to 4:00 pm.
