Brandon Ruth

May 5, 1982 — August 31, 2025

Brandon Richard Ruth, beloved husband, father, son, brother, son-in-law and friend, passed away on August 31 after a courageous three-year battle with leukemia at age 43. He fought with incredible strength and determination, and never lost his sense of humor or love for life.

A graduate from Towson University, Brandon was proud of his work at Maryland Public Television. His love for music led him start a band, a music festival and contribute to the Baltimore music scene. He’s an avid collector and sports lover, and loved sharing his passions with friends and family.

Brandon was a devoted husband to the love of his life, Una. Their children Lane (6) and Maya (2) were the light of his life.

He is survived by his wife Una, their two children, Lane and Maya, his mother Tammy, his step-father Felix, his brother Kyle, step-sister Emmely and two step-brothers Thomas and Estevan, and numerous family members.

He will be remembered for his kindness, charisma, strength, sense of humor, and the deep love he had for his family. His natural aura gravitated people into his life, that not only created a sense of belonging, but inevitably created a family, one friend at a time.

His time with us was far too short, but the love and memories he gave will stay with us forever.

Friends and family may gather at St. Mark Church, 30 Melvin Avenue, Catonsville, Maryland, 21228, Saturday, September 6, 2025 from 10:00am-11:30am. A prayer service for Brandon will be held at 11:30am. A gathering following the service will be held at the Phoenix on Main at 1pm.

In lieu of flowers, donations to support Lane and Maya’s future education can be made here.
