Barbara Jean Haughey

Barbara Jean Haughey was born in Baltimore, Maryland on December 30, 1950. She passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, February 3, 2026. She was preceded in death by her parents, Doris Marie Haughey and William Marlin Haughey, as well as her nephew, Jeremy Wells Hetzner.

Barbara retired after many years working at the State of Maryland Medical Examiner's Office all the while sharing her talents for crafting and baking with her friends, family and especially her 13 great nieces and nephews.

Barbara is survived by her sister, Carol Hetzner Steele and her husband Timothy L. Steele, as well as her nieces and nephews: Jeffrey and Angela Hetzner, Jason Hetzner and his fiancée, Erin McGinnis, Emily and Jarred Nicholls, Jessica Shue, Kathryn Steele and Dr. Nina Phillipsen. As well as her much loved aforementioned 13 great nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Jeremy Hetzner Memorial Scholarship Fund, Mt. St. Joseph High School, 4403 Frederick Avenue, Baltimore, MD 21229.
