Patricia Ann (Kalisz) Previdi

Patricia Ann (Kalisz) Previdi, 74, of Woodstock, MD, passed peacefully on November 12, 2018 after a brief illness. Pat is survived by her husband of 51 years, John Charles Previdi, PhD, her son Alexander Eugene Previdi and daughter-in-law Caryn Carmer Previdi and two grandchildren, Megan Zoe (13) and Quinn Xavier (11).

Pat was born March 17, 1944 in Wheeling, WV and raised in Avon Lake, Ohio. She attended Dickinson University for her undergraduate degree and then attended the University of Connecticut, obtaining one Master’s Degree in Education and one in Spanish. UConn is where she and John met, where he obtained his PhD in Chemistry.  They married in 1967 and moved to Catonsville, MD, where they would live for more than 45 years, raising Alex, who graduated from the Boy’s Latin School, and then went on to earn a degree from Drew University in NJ.

During her nearly 50 years in the Catonsville community, Pat would teach hundreds of students Spanish and English as a Second Language. She taught at a number of local schools, including: St. Mary’s Seminary, Mount St. Joseph, the Gilman school, Calvert Hall, Catonsville Community College, Patapsco Middle School, Howard County Schools, and for the language company, Berlitz.

Services are scheduled for Tuesday, November 27 at 11 am. Gathering beginning at 10 am at Trinity United Methodist Church, 2100 Westchester Ave. Catonsville, MD. In lieu of flowers, the family gratefully asks that contributions be made to the American Cancer Society and the Trinity United Methodist Church, 2100 Westchester Avenue, Catonsville, Maryland 21228.
