Michael Zwingelberg Obituary

Michael “Mike” Ian Zwingelberg

April 29, 1991 - December 26, 2019

“For nothing loved is ever lost, and he was loved so much.”

Mike Zwingelberg, 28, of Wright, Wyoming passed away on Thursday, December 26.  A native of Catonsville, Maryland, where he lived for most of his life, Mike was home visiting family.  Mike is the son of Mary (Bahler) Zwingelberg and Shane Zwingelberg.

Mike graduated from Catonsville High School in 2009 where he was a fixture in Comet Athletics.  He was a passionate athlete who excelled at lacrosse and football.  People who knew “Mike Z” throughout his life understood him to be a kind, positive and free spirited individual.  He was well loved by his family and friends and enjoyed spending time with them and traveling with them.  He loved music; a big fan of the Grateful Dead. And, although he moved from Baltimore, he continued to be a dedicated Ravens fan.

Mike had a degree in business from CCBC.  He lived most recently in Wright, Wyoming where he worked as an Electrical Vo-Tech for Peabody Energy at the North Antelope Rochelle Mine, Wyoming; the largest coal mine in the world.  Mike managed PSL computer systems for large electrical motors.  In preparation for this career Michael had recently graduated from Western Dakota Tech, Rapid City, South Dakota where he received his degree in Electrical Maintenance.  He was very proud of his school and training and was president of the electronics club.

Mike loved his adopted home in the north central US and spent much of his time exploring the Black Hills with family and friends.  His dream was to purchase land in the Black Hills and build a home there.

Mike is survived by Mary, his mother; Shane, his father; Anna, his sister; maternal grandmother, Joan Bahler; paternal grandparents, Dr. William and Tamara  Zwingelberg; and a large extended family.

Visitations will be held at Candle Light Funeral Home on Monday, December 30 from 2:00pm to 4:00pm and 6:00pm to 8:00pm.  A Memorial Service will be conducted at 3:00pm during the visitation.
