Hello from a long ago fan of Laura, I just learned of her passing in my most recent Towson High School newsletter, the Spring 2019 edition. I am compelled to write to you to say that all my life, Laura remained tucked away in my memory as an inspiring, kind, smart leader to me. I was THS class of 79, but was lucky to be on the track and field team with her for two years. That was more than enough to gain a mentor, although I doubt she even knew it, teaching me discipline, goal setting, and running skills that stayed with me for decades. I was never even close to the athlete she was, but learned from her and loved being on her team. It was an important part of my high school experience and the learns learned on that team made me a better person. I was really saddened to hear of her passing, I can see that after she graduated THS she continued in her life as an inspiration, really just an amazing person. So that's it. Just letting you know there is one more person out here that she touched and helped. I am so sorry for your loss, but I know you were blessed having this mom, sister, wife, friend, etc in your life. -Lisa Meenan Seider

After college, Laura played co-ed adult soccer on a team I coached, Magic. She was so very nice. Just a great person.

Laura was a blessing. I considered her my other mother. I was one of her students and mentees and she guided me all the way till the very end, even when I transferred from CCBC. She saw a potential in me that I didn't even see in myself. I will miss her cheerful spirit and her amazing heart. Rest in peace Laura.

Dear Lemire Family,
So so sorry for your loss. Only met Laura for a brief moment in time and she was definitely a wonderful and vibrant woman who loved you all. It is truely a great pleasure having met her and enjoying songs of Bon Jovi and Journey. Hope you all continue to embrace the memories you shared and let god and her light console you during this time.
Sincerely,

I was truly shocked to see this posting. As her physical education teacher and basketball coach I was in awe of Laura's dedication to everything she did. Her skills were outstanding as was her integrity . I was always amazed at the closeness of her family and am honored to have coached this talented athlete and even better person. I am truly saddened by this. My thoughts and prayers are with the family at this time of sorrow.

Back in the late 70's, I met Laura at University of MD. I was always impressed with her intelligence and athletic skills. But Laura LeMire the person was so kind and quick to smile that many times one could forget some of her skills. Over the past few years, we reconnected through FB and although I knew she was challenged by her health issue she continued to give an uplifting view of the world and life. I don't recall ever hearing her discuss her accomplishments. Actions were louder than words for her. But to see now what this woman has achieved over her life and how many people she influenced by example brings joy to me because even though we lost her recently we know that she lived her life to the fullest and facilitated others to do the same. Laura LeMire, rest in peace.

I had the pleasure of knowing Laura through high school, where she was the most accomplished individual I had ever known--- which seems to have followed her into her very successful and full adult years. Laura was truly unique and a role model for others... My condolences to her family and friends.

My love to Laura's family and to Steve. The first time I met Laura, I instantly was drawn to her enthusiastic love of life and knew she would make a wonderful friend. She lived life to the fullest, and I will always have fond memories of dinners together with highly competitive card games, local hiking and most especially our trek to Machu Picchu--she was friends with everyone on the trail, remembering their names and all their life's details after about the first mile of the journey. May we all live life to the utmost fullest. xxoo

I'm so saddened to hear of the passing of Laura LeMire. She was my engineering professor, mentor, and friend during her early years at CCBC. Professor LeMire was always willing to help me while I struggled with migraines in college, and she was the reason I won an STEM scholarship.
She was one of the kindest, most compassionate people I have known, and I don't think anyone was more thrilled for me on graduation day than she was. We remained in touch for several years thereafter via email, where she always spoke about Will and Katie more than herself.
She once told me after the passing of a mutual friend, "We just have to rejoice in all the good he accomplished and joy he brought others." Now, I will do so for Professor LeMire. My most sincere condolences to her family.

I will always remember Laura as a great teammate, playing for the Towson High Basketball team even with a broken wrist, and a great classmate, as she singlehandedly got me through calculus senior year. I know she lives on in all those she taught, helped, coached and inspired.

I knew Laura from the Financial Planning group at BG&E in the early 1990s. She was wonderful to work with -- smart, enthusiastic, funny, caring, involved in activities such as the M Club at Maryland. I know I speak for everyone at BG&E when I say it always was a pleasure to work with her. Laura left BG&E in about 1996-1997 to work for STX. We all looked at that and thought, "way to go Laura -- you have found your perfect match -- a blend of your athletic ability, engineering and business skills."
The picture of her is exactly what I imagine she would look like today -- the same bright eyes, the same wide smile and the same confidence.
I am so sorry for your loss.

My sincerest condolences. Laura was a hellcat...the latest club team and so much fun. We were teammates at Maryland and I spoke with her last a little over a year ago. Maryland was a tough arena and Laura was a protective and directive force to follow. I am not a follower by any means, but still, in vulnerable situations, Laura was always strong and present. I am blessed to have run into her years after school, running my club team and convincing her to play. We had tons of fun and I will dig up pictures and send them as well as more memories.
My sincerest condolences to all and while grieving, know for sure that your daughter touched so many lives in such a very wonderful way . I am a bit verklempt, but will send everything I can dig up.
Much love, Jane Whyte

Laura and I shared an office - and our lives - for five years. In her 10 years at CCBC, she accomplished more than most do in a lifetime. However, I believe Laura's greatest joy and accomplishment was being a mother. She loved talking about Katie and Will all the time. She always put them first. She was so proud of them both. To Katie and Will, I am so very sorry for your loss. And to Steve - Your love for each other was so perfect. You are in my thoughts and prayers. Laura, thank you for being my friend.

I met Laura in about 1972 - my first and a lasting impression was that I could not believe a girl could beat me in the 40 yard dash. Then over the years I learned she was smart, funny, kind, and caring. She obviously came from a great family. I will miss her. My condolences to Andi, MIke, and the rest of the family.

Laura touched many lives, including my family here in the UK, she encouraged and inspired my youngest daughter to fulfil her dream and attend college and play, like Laura, for the Terps. She was a constant reminder to those she meet that you can achieve anything if you set your mind to it. Thank you Laura.
