Judith Kristine ( Bjoraa) Mackinson

Judy was born October 4, 1932 to Haakon and Hedvik Synnove Bjoraa in Chicago Illinois.  Her parents immigrated from Norway during the Great Depression.  She was an only child. She met her husband Charles Robert “Bob” Mackinson in the late 1940’s while he was on Naval Assignment in Chicago.  They later married and lived in Chicago.  Judy worked for The Wrigley Chewing Gum Company as a secretary.  It was with great excitement that Judy and Bob welcomed 2 daughters Lee Ann and Jo Ann before moving to Baltimore in 1957.  

They took up residence in Catonsville where they raised their family which grew with the birth of their third daughter Wendy Lynne, followed by their long awaited, only son, Curtis Robert. Judy felt that being a mother was the most important job she would ever do and took it seriously.  

Judy was an active member at Emmanuel Lutheran Church,singing in the choir and participating in the Ladies Ministry “The Doves.”    You could find Judy there serving otherswherever there was a need.     She became church secretary, loved her job and she remained there until retirement.  

Judy was a devoted active grandmother who followed all their academic and sports related activities, which included a diversity of sports and events, choir and band performances as well as drama productions.  Grandma Judy was there with a smile, cheering each one on and embracing each moment. Shewas a loving wife, nurturing mother, Grandma and a loyal friend.  Her legacy will live on in her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren who have been loved and blessed by herlife.

Family will receive friends at the Emmanuel Lutheran Church, 929 Ingleside Avenue, on Saturday, January 5, 2019, from 10AM to 11AM, where a funeral service will be held at 11AM. Interment private.
