Elizabeth Shea Obituary

Elizabeth L. Shea (Brown), beloved wife of the late Donald D. Shea; devoted mother of Brian Shea, Karen Lynch, Diana Pollard and Linda Angevine; loving grandmother of Kevin Tewey and Michael Pollard and great grandmother of Bailey and Jackson Pollard.

Betty passed away peacefully in her Catonsville home on April 10, 2018 surrounded by her loved ones and comforted in knowing she lived a life full of cherished memories.

Born in 1933, Betty lived her childhood in Baltimore.  She is a graduate of Seton High School where she played sports and made life-long friends.  Betty began her work career with the State of Maryland government.  She later went to work for Montgomery Wards and retired after 32 years.

In 1956, she married the love of her life, Donald Shea and was married for 49 years until he passed away in 1996.  It was 49 years of love, laughter, and commitment!

In recent years, Betty found tremendous joy in caring for her great-grandchildren, Bailey and Jackson Pollard.  Family was the most important aspect of her world.  She loved to vacation in Ocean City with her family.  She always looked forward to Friday nights because that was game night with her girls.

Betty and Don raised their family in the St. Joseph’s Monastery Parish where she was a parishioner for 62 years.  She was a member of the Prime Timers club for seniors and served as the club president.

Betty will be greatly missed by those fortunate enough to have known her.

Family and friends may gather at the CANDLE LIGHT FUNERAL HOME by Craig Witzke on Friday, 2-4 & 6-8pm. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Saturday, 12pm, St. Joseph Monastery. Interment to follow immediately at Crest Lawn Memorial Gardens.
