Dorothy "Dottie" Phillips

DOROTHY ELLEN PHILLIPS   "Dottie" passed away on March 14th, 2018, at the age of 73, surrounded by loving family and friends.  Dottie graduated from Eastern High School in Baltimore, MD, received her Bachelor's Degree in Human Resource Management from University of Maryland, and worked as a Senior Human Resource Analyst for Westinghouse and for the Howard County Government.

A long-time resident of Catonsville, Dottie was an active member of Christ The King Episcopal Church and then Salem Lutheran Church and their outreach ministries.  Dottie was part of a women's bible/prayer group that met for over 20 years. She enjoyed bus trips to New York and Broadway Musicals.  She is survived by her sister, Jane Phillips Harple (Dick), nieces Kathy Lococo (Wayne Curcie) and Patricia Lafferty (Mike) and five great nieces and nephews.  She was very fond of her nieces and nephews, and they thought the world of her.  She will be remembered by them affectionately for her playful and easy-going way, her genuineness, kindness and passion for helping others.

We will always carry Dottie's memory in our hearts.  A celebration of Dottie's life will be held at 11 am on Saturday, April 14th at Salem Lutheran Church, 905 Frederick Road, Catonsville, MD, with Pastor Dave Asendorf.  There will be a visitation/fellowship from 9:30 - 11:00 am at Salem Lutheran before the service.  A service for committal of her ashes will be held at Christ the King Scattering Garden at a later date.

Dottie’s family and friends convey a special thanks to the Staff at St. Agnes Hospital for the conscientious, tender, and compassionate medical care and attention they provided to Dottie around the clock.
